About me
Jackie Biger holds a Master of Library Science degree from Simmons University with a focus on children’s
services, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of Iowa. Her professional experience
includes positions in both public and school libraries across the K-12 continuum. She previously served as head of
youth services in Amherst, New Hampshire, and more recently worked as a teacher librarian in both high school
and elementary school settings in Iowa.
Jackie teaches graduate courses in school library administration, literature, resources for youth, and literacy and
learning. She serves as program coordinator for the teacher librarian program, overseeing all school library
practicum placements and mentoring. Currently, she also serves as the awards chair for the Iowa Association of
School Librarians (IASL).
