About me
Librarian by day, author/illustrator by night, and beekeeper during the in-between moments, Brittany Jacobs brings a unique perspective to her role as Director of the Burlington Public Library - particularly considering she was banned from her local library as a child. With a master's degree in information science and an undergraduate degree in curriculum development, Brittany spent the first part of her library career creating fun, hands-on learning experiences for kids and teens. Now working on her master's in public administration she shapes policy and practice to align with human-centered and sustainable initiatives, while continuing to champion curiosity and life-long learning for people of all ages.
As the 2026 President of the Iowa Library Association, Brittany brings her passion for enriching communities through collective-based advocacy and transformative experiences in the public sphere.
