Aric Bishop is a library professional with experience in library administration, circulation services, community engagement, volunteer coordination, grant writing, fundraising, and library advocacy. He has served in a variety of public and academic library roles, including Library Director at the Osceola Public Library and Matilda J. Gibson Memorial Library in Creston, and currently works as a Circulation Assistant at the West Des Moines Public Library.
Aric is a graduate of the 2022 Iowa Library Association Leadership Institute and the Municipal Leadership Academy. He has served on the Iowa Library Association's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and currently serves on the Government Affairs Committee. He has also mentored for the University of Washington's iSTAMP (iSchool Student-to-Alumni Mentorship Program), supporting future library professionals.
He holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington, an MBA in Human Resource Management from Upper Iowa University, a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Grand View University, an Associate of Arts from Southwestern Community College, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education at Drake University.
